Liverpool’s popular pizzeria Maluco has unveiled a new deli and grab and go section to compliment its restaurant and outdoor terrace area which has recently been expanded as part of the city’s Liverpool Without Walls initiative.
The store, which provides a plethora of items that can be made and enjoyed at home, is an independent cooperative made up of high quality and artisanal produce from local independents.
With vegan items from Indigo Greens, freshly baked goods from Liz Beth Bakes, jarred products from Cahita and fresh pies and produce from Ellis Barrie’s The Fat Pig Farm, as well as Maluco’s famous pizzas, and an array of fresh fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, pastries, cakes, eggs, dried pasta, sauces, chutneys, oils, crisps, coffee beans, cold pressed juices and a bottle shop serving up organic and natural wines, beers and freshly made cocktails, Maluco’s store is a one-stop-shop for essentials, high quality ingredients and ready made dishes that can be finished off at home. Meal prep is also available.
Renowned Maluco pizzas can be purchased and are freshly made with guests needing to simply finish the pizzas off at home for 5-7 minutes. Favourites including the DGT with mozzarella, pepperoni, chicken, pulled pork, ham, beef, jalapeños, ranch dressing, the classic Margherita and the vegan Mushroom Kiev pizza are amongst the pizzas available to enjoy at home.
Maluco’s speciality dough balls with garlic butter are also available at the store, and pizza making kits that are a perfect way to include the entire family or get created with your favourite toppings.
Maluco’s store is also home to an in house bakery; with freshly made loaves of bread perfect for individual guests, retail or businesses.
Currently open from Thursday-Sunday 12pm-late, Maluco is available for bookings, walk-ins and takeaway, and with its expansion to offer an in-house deli and pantry, guests dining at the restaurant will also receive 20% off all store products until the end of July.
In August, Maluco will be open daily and will be taking part in the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme where guests can receive 50% off a main course Monday-Wednesday.
August will also see Maluco’s store increasing its grab and go selection in preparation for more office workers returning to the city centre.
There will also be a special £5 lunch deal which includes a grab and go drink or hot drink plus a selected sandwich or slice.
Matt Farrell, co-owner of Maluco, said: “We wanted to come out of lockdown with a broader offering and introducing Maluco @ Home has been the ideal way to offer our guests a chance to enjoy the products they know and love from Maluco itself plus many other local independents to takeaway.
As businesses bring their employees back to work and offices reopen, we’ve focused on being prepared and providing something new and convenient for our guests whilst ensuring the products are of the highest quality and locally sourced.
“The store is still expanding and we’ll be continuously adding new items to it as well as developing an online store where guests can click+collect or even order online for delivery to their door. It’s a really exciting time for Maluco which will still be welcoming guests to dine inside or at our outdoor terrace.”
