When Duke Street Food and Drink Market opened in May, it set about becoming a hub for the community.
Child and dog friendly, the market has now unveiled a whole calendar of events in line with World Mental Health Day, from stress-busting lunchtime yoga classes, to postnatal yoga for new mums, the market has something for everyone.
Every Thursday, guests can expect Postnatal Yoga at 10.30am, where qualified local instructor Gina Torres will guide new mothers through a gentle session. Babies are also welcome in this class.
At 11.30am, there’s toddler yoga for the slightly older children that are of walking to preschool age.
On Fridays, Gina will also host a Weekly Wind Down yoga session from 12pm, giving guests the chance to destress ahead of the weekend. There is an option to pre-book lunch from one of the six kitchens ahead of the yoga session, with the food being ready as soon as the class finishes at 12.45pm.
And on the first Saturday of every month, Duke Street Market will also host a DSM Saturday Social from 10am. This will change each month to keep it interesting and fun but it will always be an upbeat class that will give guests the feel-good-factor.
Lee Bannon-Smith, General Manager of Duke Street Market, said: “We really want the market to become a sociable hub for Liverpool and that’s instilled in the way we encourage community dining right through to the events we have planned.
“We’d love for our guests to meet new people and try new things at the market and that’s why every week our Saturday Social will change to ensure it’s always interesting and fun. We’d also love to welcome our guests who are parents for baby bonding time, or they can come alone to have some time out for themselves.
“Gina is a fantastic yoga instructor and will accommodate all abilities; from beginner through to advanced. She’s also fully qualified to teach post natal yoga so new mothers joining us will be in great hands.”
