Duke Street Market – Liverpool’s culinary hub that is both child and dog friendly – is launching a new kids menu.
The menu will be available from Wednesday 19th February, during half-term, so families can come along and enjoy a range of dishes and drinks at the venue which is already home to a play area.
To mark the launch of the menu, the market is giving the first 25 children to arrive at the market at 12pm on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th February a free dish of their choice, as well as a Duke Street Market balloon.
New dishes include hamburger and hand cut chips from red meat specialist Bone and Block, penne pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce or half Margherita pinsa from much-loved Italian Cucina Di Vincenzo.
There’s also a cheese and ham Cubano from Cuban-inspired Finca, chargrilled chicken thigh and crushed new potatoes or chargrilled seabass and crispy new potatoes from Cinder the kitchen that specialises in open fire cooking, plant-based sausage, beans, scramble with toast from vegan kitchen Indigo Greens and mini udon noodles or breaded mini chicken breast and rice from Asian inspired Ginger.
Children will also receive a colouring sheet and word search, and on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th February there will also be a face painter at the venue, as well as local sweet shop Sweet on the Street which will be pitched up in the market’s foyer selling sweet boxes and treats.
Lee Bannon-Smith, Duke Street Market’s General Manager, said: “We’re a family-friendly venue so it was only a matter of time before we broadened our offering to launch a dedicated children’s menu. The market prides itself on quality dishes so all of our kids meals are packed with fresh ingredients and there’s something to suit all tastes.
“From crowd pleasers like hamburger and chips, and pasta and meatballs, and chargrilled chicken and potatoes, to something a little bit different like our delicious cheese and ham Cubano and mini udon noodles, your children won’t get bored at Duke Street Market!
“Head down on Wednesday 19th or Thursday 20th February and if your child is one of the first 25 at the market, they’ll be able to select a dish of their choice for free!”
